I’m Chloe Hodson, a learning designer, educator, researcher, and thought partner for people creating meaningful learning experiences.

I’ve always experienced the world through relationships and patterns. As a child, I played school constantly and paid as much attention to how my teachers treated people as what they were teaching. I remember sitting in my third-grade classroom, watching a teacher speak to us in a way that felt deeply wrong, and thinking, “I would never do that.”

That instinct has stayed with me throughout my life and career. I’ve always been less interested in isolated ideas than in the relationships between people and systems and values and practices. I tend to see the bigger picture, noticing patterns, tensions, and possibilities that are often difficult to articulate but deeply felt.

Over the past decade, this way of seeing has shaped my work as an educator, facilitator, learning designer, and researcher. While teaching internationally, I experienced what became possible when educators were trusted to create meaningful, human-centered learning experiences. Returning to the United States, I encountered educational structures that often felt disconnected from the values that had drawn me to teaching in the first place. That tension ultimately led me to pursue doctoral research exploring love, humanization, and educational experience.

Today, as a PhD candidate in Curriculum & Instruction, my research examines how care, dignity, and meaningful relationships shape learning and transformation. Through bloom.ed, I partner with practitioners who are creating experiences designed to help people learn, heal, grow, and transform.

I do my best work in collaboration with others. I don’t see my role as providing answers so much as helping people recognize and strengthen what is already emerging. I am most at home in the spaces where ideas, identities, and possibilities are still taking shape, bringing language, structure, and coherence to work that matters deeply.
